Umpferstedt / Frankendorf, 06.09.2026 – A traffic accident on the B7 federal highway late Saturday evening resulted in a full closure lasting several hours. A truck trailer slid into the ditch and overturned.
On Monday morning, an 88-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle on the B7 near Wogau, resulting in a collision with a tree. The driver sustained minor injuries.
Jena / Wogau, August 17, 2026 – Following a traffic accident on the B7 federal highway near the entrance to Wogau, a temporary full closure was implemented on Monday morning. A car had veered off the road and collided with a tree.
Following the completion of road surface renovations in the Mühltal (B7), the city of Jena has adjusted traffic regulations at the Münchenrodaer Grund junction. Cyclists no longer have priority over motor vehicle traffic at this location.

On late Sunday morning, a traffic accident involving two cars occurred on the Bundesstraße 7 (B7) within the Jena city area. A failure to yield right of way while entering the federal highway is considered the cause of the accident; fortunately, there were no injuries.
Police in the Jena city area are conducting mobile speed checks this Friday to increase road safety and deter speeders, with a focus on the district of Isserstedt.
On Tuesday, a dangerous overtaking maneuver occurred on the B7, followed by a hit-and-run. A driver collided with a truck and left the scene without authorization. Weimar police are now looking for witnesses.
