Jena, 23.07.2026: In response to historically low birth rates in Thüringen, the Universitätsklinikum Jena (UKJ), in cooperation with the Thüringer Ministry of Health, is focusing on the digitalization of obstetric medicine. With state funding, a telemedical network is being established to make specialist knowledge available statewide.

Jena, July 15, 2026 – The team at the Universitätsklinikum Jena has achieved a medical milestone: despite an extremely early rupture of membranes in the 20th week of pregnancy, the birth of a baby girl was delayed by 15 weeks, allowing the child to be born healthy in June.
