A 36-year-old e-scooter rider was slightly injured in Jena on Monday morning after a car driver failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of Ilmstraße and Löbstedter Straße.
Following the solemn commemorative events for Liberation Day, the memorial at the former concentration camp subcamp in Löbstedter Straße was devastated by unknown perpetrators. The city branch of the party Die Linke strongly condemns the destruction of the laid memorial wreaths and calls for a rethink of the city’s culture of remembrance.
Good news for drivers and commuters in Jena: Renovation work on Löbstedter Straße is being completed faster than originally planned. Traffic will flow freely again starting this coming weekend.
Due to construction work in Löbstedter Straße, bus lines 43 and 430 are subject to schedule changes. The Loquitzweg stop will be out of service until mid-May.
Starting April 23, 2026, Kommunalservice Jena (KSJ) will begin extensive road surface renovations in Löbstedter Straße. Despite the construction work, OBI and the recycling center will remain accessible throughout both construction phases.
Due to construction work, Löbstedter Straße in Jena will be fully closed from April 23 to April 30, 2026. Bus lines 43 and 430 are affected, with several stops being relocated to replacement locations.
