After around three decades of intensive renovation work, the medieval Lobdeburg castle ruins are once again open to the public. On Friday, the historic structure above the city of Jena was officially inaugurated.
After nearly three decades of extensive renovation and preservation work, the most famous historical landmark above Jena-Lobeda shines in new splendor. The medieval ruins of the Lobdeburg, once considered the problem child of local monument preservation, have been saved from final decay through continuous, heritage-compliant restoration.
The “Lobdeburg-Gemeinde 1912” association receives state funding to significantly improve the infrastructure for outdoor events at the historic castle ruins in Jena.
